Creative practice as research is a process of thinking in and through ideas toward new things. In puppet theatre we think through handling the material, the objects and puppets that we work with in order to listen to the material and find what direction to go in. We try to remain open to ‘happy accidents’ where a discovery might come simply because we were trying to force the material into doing something it really didn’t want to do.
